Kino im Kasten

The Kino im Kasten is a non-commercial program cinema founded by students of the TU in 1993. It is run on a volunteer basis by film enthusiasts, and new helpers are welcome. From programming to public relations/marketing and accounting, to projecting a film, you can learn everything about film distribution, cinema technology, and of course film itself.

We show films that are too rarely seen on the big screen. Selected with care, sometimes philosophical, sometimes funny, then again serious and tragic, grotesque or surreal, there is the whole range of 125 years of film to see with us. If you've been wanting to see your favorite film on the big screen for a long time, you've come to the right place! Because we decide together as a team what will be shown.

In addition to the semester program, we regularly organize special events, such as silent film evenings with live sound, and offer young filmmakers a forum. Highlights also include our summer cinema on the TU campus, as well as regular 35mm projections with our Czechoslovak Meopta projectors (a treat for cinema lovers and technology buffs)

Do you feel like joining us? Then write us an email or talk to us after a screening.
