STUWERTINUM - Pooja Nain

Pooja Nain is studying Tropical Forest Sciences at the TU Dresden. Since 2016 she has been working on her artistic skills parallel to her studies. She works with diverse materials, such as graphite, watercolors, drawing charcoal, acrylic and oil paints - depending on the subject. By means of art, she explores the vastness of her subconscious and how drawing supports the self-healing powers of mind and body. In addition, art for her is an elevated form of communication.

The cultural Indian background naturally flows into her work: "jeevan" (life/soul) and "janani" (mother) are the two active areas of her work, represented by paintings that reflect her inner journey and my concern and compassion for the environment.

"Jeevan conveys my experience of spirituality, an unknown inner world has undoubtedly emerged from transcendent states of consciousness. Janani addresses anthropogenic exploitation and the effects our planet is facing. I am immersed in the mechanics of storytelling, a role that creative language plays in bridging the gap between humanity, nature and spirituality. It's a story that doesn't end when my brush leaves the canvas."
