Neue Mensa in Dresden
After extensive renovation, the Neue Mensa on the TU Dresden campus reopened its doors in March 2026 as a listed building of great historical significance. Built between 1975 and 1981 and under heritage protection since 2008, it remains a defining landmark of student life.
The comprehensive refurbishment combines original architecture with contemporary interior design and modern technology. The free-flow area allows for an individual selection of meals, while light-filled dining halls—alongside the cafeteria, coffee lounge, and pub (Bierstube) create versatile spaces for gathering.
With offerings available throughout the entire day - from breakfast and coffee to lunch and evening cultural events in the pub - the Mensa serves as a vibrant meeting point on campus.

| Offers: | Lunch Menu: A wide selection of various main courses, including vegan, vegetarian, and meat options. We offer daily vegan doner kebab as well as meat-based doner, pasta, side dishes, salads, and desserts for self-service with a choice of two sauces. Additionally, there is a pizza oven and a daily selection of self-service soups. Cafeteria & Coffee Lounge (Ground Floor): An extensive range of sweet and savory snacks, as well as a variety of hot beverages. Bierstube (Pub): A large variety of draught and bottled beers, along with a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages. A fixed evening menu featuring a small selection of dishes is also available. |
