Cooks or chefs and event catering professionals - take the next career step in student dining services!
As Studentenwerk Dresden, we ensure that students and university staff can concentrate on their studies and teaching through our services and facilities. More than 250 employees work in our 15 dining halls and 6 cafeterias at three locations in Dresden, Tharandt, Zittau, and Görlitz.
Working in the dining hall or cafeteria
Our dining halls and cafeterias are more than just places to eat. They are important social spaces where people meet and interact. With their distinctive architecture and furnishings, our dining halls are prominent buildings with a key function on campus.
Our aim is to offer contemporary, modern gastronomy with friendly service and socially responsible prices. Join us – whether as a kitchen or service manager, chef, or kitchen and service staff. We offer attractive jobs with many benefits rarely found in the restaurant industry.
Career change to the catering industry – join our team!
Even without formal vocational training in the catering industry, you have a good chance of finding a job with us. For work as a kitchen and service staff member in our cafeterias and canteens, you'll need good German skills, an independent and customer-oriented work ethic, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work in a team. Completed vocational training is an advantage, but not absolutely necessary.
Working in the catering industry part-time or full-time – both are possible with us!
As an employee in Student Dining Services, you have the option of working part-time or full-time. Depending on your employment contract and position, weekly working hours of 20, 30, or 40 hours are possible. Overtime is reliably recorded and compensated with time off. Switching between working time models is also possible under the prescribed criteria (according to the TV-L collective agreement) and as needed and in consultation with your supervisors.
Attractive benefits such as workplace health management
In a large organization like Studentenwerk Dresden, you as an employee benefit from numerous additional advantages. As part of our workplace health management program (BGM), you have the opportunity to take advantage of various offerings designed to promote your health and well-being.
Studentenwerk Dresden – Your reliable employer with a collective agreement
As an institution of the Free State of Saxony, the Studentenwerk Dresden is subject to the collective agreement for federal states for public sector employees (TV-L). This means an attractive monthly salary and an additional annual bonus, as well as 30 days of vacation, company pension plan, and a bonus system for outstanding performance as a team or as an individual. You also have the option of receiving a subsidy for your job ticket or Germany-wide public transport pass (Deutschlandticket) and for employee meals.
