The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is helping students who are demonstrably in a financial or economic emergency situation owing to the corona pandemic with allowances totalling 100 million euros. They are paid out via the student service organisations – the Studierenden- or Studentenwerk (STW).
The grant can be applied online up to a maximum of 500 euros also for September 2020.
Attention: Please do not submit the September application until the August application has been completed!
Therefore, when you apply, please remember to read the FAQ carefully, follow the instructions in the application tool and explain your predicament in a comprehensible manner.
The most common reasons for rejection have so far been lack of evidence of an acute pandemic emergency within the meaning of the directive, documents that have not been submitted despite requests for additional information, or an excessive account balance.
