Please note that the application for study start-up aid can only be submitted if you are enrolling at a university for the first time. The study start-up aid can be applied for independently of any BAföG application - exclusively electronically via BAföG Digital. Important for all applicants: There is a deadline for the application for study start-up aid! An application for study start-up aid can only be submitted by the end of the month following the month in which your studies begin. If the summer semester at the university begins on April 1st, you can still submit the application until May 31st.
Note on first-time enrollment: If you have already been enrolled at another university in Germany, the European Union or a third country at an earlier point in time, this counts as first-time enrollment and study start-up aid cannot be granted.
