No dough, no show! Studying is more than the acquisition of knowledge. Reliable student finance is an important factor in a successful degree course. The BAföG (English: Federal Training Assistance Act) office at Studentenwerk Dresden is the right contact point for any questions you may have relating to BAföG.

Did you know that ...

  • BAföG can be paid from as little as 10 euros up to a maximum of 941 euros per month?
  • even with assets of up to €15,000 (up to 29) or €45,000 (from 30) you are still fully entitled to BAföG?
  • the age limit for BAföG was raised to 45 (at the start of studies)?
  • Repayments is not due until five years after the standard period of study has elapsed – and even then, only half of the original loan without interest and a maximum of 10,010 Euro?
  • BAföG recipients are also exempt from Rundfunkbeitrag (English: broadcast license fees)?

Once a day there is a moment, at which everybody shares the same notion: lunch time!

First and foremost, all of our canteens and cafeterias are dedicated to flavour, as well as to the general enjoyment of the student's dining experience. We offer a tasty variety of reasonably priced, healthy dishes accompanied by the friendly service of our staff.

The canteens and cafeterias provided by Studentenwerk are more than the sum of their culinary options. These facilities welcome up to 20.000 visitors every day, who come here to socialize and relax.

Psycho-social Counseling (PSB)

The time of your studies is a time of developing your personality, which is almost always inevitable connected with crises. Doubts about choosing the right field of study, exam anxiety or problems with time management are not uncommon. Students can turn to the Psycho-social Counseling Center with their problems.

The Studentenwerk offers students free legal advice.

We offer you competent legal advice (fees are included in your semester fees) within our tasks and responsibilities according to § 109 of the Saxon Hochschulfreiheitsgesetz.
