Subletting is only allowed for 6 months maximum. The rent must not exceed the rent agreed on in the lease with the Studentenwerk. This status has to be proven to the Studentenwerk. The main tenant is responsible for the timely payment of the rent. The main tenant has to give their address during their absence to the Studentenwerk and has to give the reasons for their absence if asked.
